VBS

This past week Brenna did a Vacation Bible School at a nearby parish. The camp was called "Trading Places" and once again she loved it. (She did last year's camp as well) It was really well-run and today the kids performed all the songs they learned throughout the week. Molly spent 2 days in the child care room there while I helped in "First Class Crafts" and even she loved it. She'll be old enough to attend next year and is already wondering what the theme will be.

Something Blue . . .

Ahhh! Summer

Molly's 4 Year Old photos

No way she could possibly be any cuter!!

It took a while to schedule a photo session when she wasn’t covered in cuts and bruises so I finally gave up and just asked for poses where the Spongebob and Dora BandAids didn’t show! She’s growing up fast and is quite the little spitfire. Brenna’s much more the lady in the house (though glimpses of pre-teen attitude are starting to poke through!) whereas Miss Molly is our devil. She’s so bloody cute though that you can’t help laughing at her. She’s the queen of funny comments and I think the fact that they are two different personalities makes the girls more compatible. They get along well together (usually) and play really well together (usually) too. Sometimes long enough that I can even get something done!

Here We Are!

Hallelujah – Summer’s here!

All is well and we’ve finally finished up a busy end to the school year. Both girls had their dance recital (Molly’s first!) Naturally they were the best dancers on stage – just ask their Nana! This was a new studio for us and we were all happy with it. Brenna has also taken up Irish Dance classes and really likes that. She’ll be doing a little morning Irish dance camp for 2 weeks in July.

School is over and believe it or not we have a second grader in the house. Second grade sounds so . . . Big! Brenna is the youngest in her class so technically she’ll still be 6 when she starts so I guess it’s not THAT big after all. It just sounds that way! Molly will be leaving her nursery school and moving to Brenna’s school for PreK. We’ve gone in to meet her new teacher and classmates (all of whom already have siblings at the school so we know most of the families) and she’s happy to make the change. Three other nursery friends are moving as well so she’ll have company. I think leaving there was harder on me! Brenna was there for nursery as well and I headed the Parent Board this year. It is a nice, friendly little school and we all made some good friends there.

Not much else new. Just looking forward to a quiet summer. Dean has quite a bit of travel to do for work so the girls and I will just hang out with friends at the pool and see some sights. I’m getting really good at finding stuff to keep us busy. My dad jokes that I can’t be a stay-at-home mother if we never stay at home! Going back to the second grader comment I say hey, they’re only little once and before too long they won’t WANT to be out in public with me so we’re enjoying it while we can! We’ll be heading to Boston in early August and then it’s back to school on 8/29!
